Keep calm and drink tea—and make sure your teapot is as serene as the experience. Here, one material and one color harmoniously unify the elements. Glossy and matte surfaces separate handle and spout from the main corpus. The goal of the Bauhaus founder and architect was to subtly indicate, but not overly emphasize, the different functions of the various parts.

Sometimes the best ideas come when you’re on the move. This product was advertised as “for all places except the office,” and people loved its transportability as much as its round shape and glossy red plastic. It needed the advent of modern plastics to turn the mundane typewriter into a fun tool. Mobility was enhanced by a collapsible grip on the back and a cover from which the typewriter emerged, as if from a drawer.
